UTC Melaka: Changing Public Perception Into Positive Realities

MELAKA, Aug 13 (Bernama) -- Melaka resident Daress Abraham smiles with satisfaction every time she goes to the Melaka Urban Transformation Centre (UTC) here as she can carry out her transactions within a short time without any hassles.

The 62-year-old housewife is impressed with the government services transformation being implemented at the UTC, that provides fast and efficient services unlike the public perception of government services that are often bogged down by red tape and other bureaucracy.

Daress, who went to the UTC to make a repayment for her child's Melaka Education Trust Fund loan, said it took her less than an hour to complete her task.

"The service was fast and my husband and I did not have to wait long for our turn while the officer at the counter was also customer friendly. I strongly agreed with the government's move to open this UTC," the mother-of-three told Bernama.

She said all the services were under one roof, which was also a pleasant experience and made it easier for senior citizens like her to deal with government and private agencies.....
