Death Of Kim Jong-nam: Media Personnel Continue To 'Camp' Outside Sepang Police HQ
SEPANG, Feb 17 (Bernama) -- The Sepang police headquarters continued to draw the attention of both local and foreign media to obtain the latest updates over the death of Kim Jong-nam, the estranged elder half-brother of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, on Monday.
They gathered in front of the Sepang police headquarters as early as 8am today when word got out that new remand proceedings on the case would be conducted there.
This came about after the remand proceedings involving two foreign women, held in connection with the case, were carried out at the building with Sepang Magistrate Sharifah Muhaymin Abd Khalib brought to the premises in a patrol car yesterday.
Several foreign media correspondents were spotted spending only about 15 minutes to perform the 'stand upper' with the Sepang police headquarters as the backdrop.
Among them was a journalist from a South Korea's English daily Kyung Hang, who wanted to be known only as Syim. He said he had been in Malaysia to cover the case since Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the arrival of four police vehicles at about 3pm caused much excitement among the media crowd.
One of the foreign women, who was using a Vietnamese passport, was believed to be in one of the cars before the convoy left the building at about 4.30pm.
Last Monday, Jong-nam was at the KL International Airport 2 at 8am to board a flight to Macau an hour later when a woman suddenly covered his face with a cloth laced with what is believed to be poison.
Jong-nam, who had used a passport bearing the name of Kim Chol, sought help at a customer service counter at klia2 and was rushed to the Putrajaya Hospital but died on the way.
