SAN JOSE, Calif., Feb 15 (Bernama) -- MIPS, the provider of the widely used MIPS processor architecture and IP cores, and NetSpeed Systems, Inc. announced today a strategic partnership to deliver interoperable solutions that enable leading-edge performance in SoCs for Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) applications. The companies will provide deeper integration of their products so that designers will be able to utilize the advanced performance features of the MIPS Warrior I-Class I6500 processors effectively with NetSpeed's Gemini network-on-chip IP. NetSpeed will be the preferred interconnect partner for MIPS providing coherency between multiple MIPS processor clusters and the rest of the SoC. MIPS designed its Warrior I-Class I6500-F processors to address the functional safety and performance requirements of emerging autonomous applications. NetSpeed Gemini-the industry's only cache coherent interconnect to achieve ASIL D Ready ISO 26262 certification-enables architects to achieve the full performance potential of their heterogeneous architecture designs.

AI capability is becoming ubiquitous in a growing number of applications including autonomous driving, voice-powered personal assistants like Siri and Alexa, facial recognition, predictive text and many more. AI, and particularly ML, requires a different kind of processing platform than those commonly used for traditional software programs. This is because with traditional software, human programmers provide the primary intelligence. With AI, however, the technology must analyze very large quantities of historical data to identify patterns, create behavior models and, essentially, program itself. This requires a great deal of compute capability with very high performance and low latency for real-time applications.

NEW YORK, Feb 15 (Bernama) -- CALVIN KLEIN today announced that the brand's Chief Creative Officer, Raf Simons, presented his Fall 2018 CALVIN KLEIN 205W39NYC runway show at the American Stock Exchange in New York City last evening.

"This collection is an evolution of my idea of CALVIN KLEIN - of a view onto American society - but now wider, universal. It's an allegory for a meeting of old worlds and new worlds, relating to the discovery of America, the 1960s Space Race, and the twenty-first century information age. Reflecting the notion of democracy, there is no cultural hierarchy: the mixes emancipate clothing and references from their meanings, from their own narratives, and collage them to discover something different - a different dream. More than anything else, this collection is about freedom. A word that defines America, and CALVIN KLEIN." - Raf Simons, February 13, 2018

TOKYO, Feb 15 (Bernama) -- NRI SecureTechnologies, Ltd., (NRI Secure) and GE Digital announced today that NRI Secure is the Asia-Pacific region's first independent company recognized as an accredited certification authority for the industry-leading Achilles Communications Certification (ACC) program Worldwide. This designation permits NRI Secure to independently provide the full ACC service to their customers, from testing and evaluation to certificate issuance. Through the ACC program, NRI Secure will evaluate the network robustness of the devices used in connected control systems and operational technology (OT) networks, allowing them to be more confidently used in the Industrial Internet.

"We are pleased to have NRI Secure as a third-party certifier of Achilles. Today many devices and machines, such as turbines, medical devices and control systems, are connected to and interact on a connected OT network," said Felicia Nicastro, Senior Cyber Security Director, GE Digital. "If control of heavy machinery or physical devices is lost due to a cyberattack, the damage could be significant. These OT environments require OT-specific technology to fortify embedded and connected systems and reduce the risk associated with cyber-related threats," Nicastro said.
