People Can Judge Guan Eng - BN Assemblyman

GEORGE TOWN, Sept 13 (Bernama) -- The people of Penang can judge what kind of leader Lim Guan Eng is by his refusal to tender a public apology to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), says a local leader here.

"A good leader is one who is willing to admit mistakes. Only a leader who is arrogant would not. The people in Penang can judge for themselves," Pulau Betong (Barisan Nasional) assemblyman Datuk Muhamad Farid Saad told reporters after launching the Petroleum Safety Awareness Programme 2017 here today.

On Aug 25, MACC gave Lim 48 hours to tender a public and unconditional apology to it or face legal action following his statement that its detention of state government exco Phee Boon Poh was illegal.

In a statement on Sept 5, MACC said it was going to take legal action against Lim for being adamant by not acceding to its request for a public apology over his allegedly defamatory statement.

Meanwhile, Muhamad Farid who is also Penang Focus Group Entrepreneurial Development and Bumiputera Cooperative Chairman said the campaign was necessary because many members of the public were still taking safety lightly.....
