Pengerang Project Allows Locals To Gain Experience

JOHOR BAHRU, Aug 9 (Bernama) -- The Pengerang Integrated Petroleum Complex (PIPC) has not only opened the country to foreign investments but also created opportunities for the local people, especially the younger generation.

When fully completed, the PIPC is expected to provide more than 60,000 jobs in various fields, with priority given to the local community.

One of the first people to benefit from this is Ta'awanu Resources owner, Mohd Hafiz Azmi, 35, who operates the canteen at the PIPC.

Mohd Hafiz who has run the canteen for a year now said the main challenge he faced was providing food which met the tastes of the employees at the complex.

"There are many employees here who come from varied backgrounds and countries, so their tastes are different. My job is to ensure that the food served here is satisfactory to them," he told Bernama when met here recently.....
