KOTA KINABALU, June 15 (Bernama) -- All rural youth aspirations which were raised in a series of dialogue sessions on the 2050 National Transformation (TN50) roadshows organised by the Rural and Regional Development Ministry will be discussed as part of the essence of the Rural Development Policy 2020-2050.

Minister, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the ministry would also take note of all the aspirations and ideas of the youth collected during the programme for inclusion in the new policy action plan in efforts to realise rural development was more sustainable for the wellbeing of the TN50 generation.

"A convention to discuss a new rural policy for the years 2020-2050 will be held in August. Therefore, the aspirations of the youth will be part of what will be discussed at the convention," he told reporters after attending a Community Dialogue TN50@KKLW Sabah level here today.

The dialogue sessions with a talk show in a relaxed and interactive manner, among others, are aimed at getting the views, expectations and proposals of the youth to the government, especially the ministry on what should be provided to the youth, ahead of TN50.

Some 300 youth attended the programme in Sabah, which is the fourth location after Kuala Lumpur, Terengganu and Sarawak.

Ismail Sabri said there were about 170 aspirations and ideas raised by Sabah's rural youth at the programme related to the overall sustainable development of the infrastructure for the rural population.

"Through rural transformation introduced by the ministry, we also aim to reduce rural-urban migration and the creation of a 'reverse migration' so that those who work in the city will return to the village because there are jobs, housing and so on provided," he said.
