Maybank Foundation To Train 4,000 Participants Under Rise Phase 3

SEREMBAN, Dec 7 (Bernama) -- Maybank Foundation, the corporate responsibility arm of Maybank, aims to train 4,000 People With Disabilities (PWDs) and marginalised communities under Phase 3 of its Reach Independence and Sustainable Entrepreneurship (RISE) programme.

Maybank Foundation Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Shahril Azuar Jimin, said the foundation had allocated a budget of RM13.3 million under Phase 3, an increase from RM5.4 million spent under Phase 2.

"Under Phase 3, we will also launch our RISE pilot project in Laos, after the Philippines, Indonesia and Malaysia.

"I'm looking for a few more (countries) soon and it will be within ASEAN. Currently, we are in the middle of discussions with the ASEAN Secretariat to expand this programme to other ASEAN countries," he told reporters after the launch of RISE Phase 3 programme here today.

The programme was launched by Tunku Besar Seri Menanti Tunku Ali Redhauddin Tuanku Muhriz. Also present was Maybank Group President and CEO, Datuk Abdul Farid Alias.....
