MPC, iPlast Ink MoU To Facilitate Industry 4.0 Initiatives For SMEs

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 9 (Bernama) -- Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC) has inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with iPlast 4.0 Sdn Bhd to facilitate the adoption of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (Industry 4.0) initiatives by the small and medium enterprises (SMEs) for higher productivity.

In a statement today, it said among the programmes planned were the application of Industry 4.0 assessment instrument and development of structured intervention programmes for Malaysian SMEs to adopt the concept.

"MPC and iPlast will collaborate to identify and train qualified auditors to undertake Industry 4.0 assessment for the SMEs interested to embark on the concept, and the findings will assist the SMEs in determining areas to be focused in their Industry 4.0 journey," it said.

MPC Director-General, Datuk Mohd Razali Hussain, said these initiatives were designed to enhance the capabilities and development of the SMEs and to spur the transformation of organisation into digitalisation, dynamic and highly competitive businesses locally, regionally and globally.

"These initiatives are aligned with one of the thrusts as identified in the Malaysia Productivity Blueprint; Driving Digitalisation and Innovation towards strengthening the readiness of enterprises to effectively adopt and exploit technology and digital advantage such as the Fourth Industry Revolution," he said.....
