Selangor Hitman Rangel Walks Away With Super League 'Golden Boots'

KUALA LUMPUR, July 13 (Bernama) -- Selangor's Brazilian striker Paulo Rangel claimed the M-League Golden Boots award after emerging as the Super League's top scorer with 16 goals.

Rangel's goal scoring prowess saw Selangor emerge as the Super League runner-up behind JDT.

Felda United striker Edward Junior Wilson from Liberia walked away with the Premier League's top scorer award with 19 goals.

Meanwhile, the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) deputy president Datuk Seri Afandi Hamzah the Malaysia Cup competition would take a three-week break to enable players to concentrate on preparations for the Asia Games in Incheon, South Korea from Sept 19 to Oct 4.

"The players will also use the break to rectify weaknesses. The National Under-23 squad which prepares for the Asian Games and the National senior squad that prepares for the AFF Suzuki Cup hosted by Singapore and Vietnam from Nov 22 to Dec 20, can also use the break to prepare for their respective tournaments," he said.
