Kajang Electorate Told Not To Fall Prey To Anwar's Political Antics
Reminding the voters of Anwar's broken promises, he said they should not be easily taken in by the opposition propaganda this time around.
Salleh said Anwar had promised that he would retire from politics and take up a teaching career if Pakatan Rakyat failed to march into Putrajaya in the general election in May last year.
"They did fail to march into Putrajaya but Anwar refused to retire as promised. In fact, he now wants to become the menteri besar of Selangor instead, and not to mention the botched attempt to take over Putrajaya (on Sept 16, 2008). The people are fed up with broken promises," he said in his blog at www.sskeruak.blogspot.com.
The Kajang by-election is being held following the sudden resignation of the incumbent assemblyman, Lee Chin Cheh of Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR), on Jan 27.
Salleh, who is the Sabah legislative assembly speaker, also chided the DAP for hurling numerous allegations against the Barisan Nasional (BN) government for political gain.
"After the May 2013 general election, the DAP had accused the BN of winning the election through fraud, saying there were blackouts all over the country during the counting of the votes and 40,000 Bangladeshi voters voted in many constituencies," he said.
Salleh said the 'Blackout 505' campaign was merely a farce mooted by the opposition, including the DAP, to justify their defeat in the election.
