Pulau Mabul Ambush: Najib Conveys Condolences To Family Of Policeman Killed

KUALA LUMPUR, July 13 (Bernama) -- Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak today expressed his condolences to the family of marine police Corporal Rajah Jamuan who was killed in an ambush by armed gunmen at a resort in Pulau Mabul, Semporna last night.

The prime minister said he believed the authorities were doing their best to search for and rescue constable Zakia Aleip, Rajah's colleague who was believed to have been kidnapped in the incident.

"Condolences to the family of Corporal Rajah Jamuan who had fallen in Mabul. We will try our best to look for and rescue constable Zakia Aleip," said Najib in his Twitter page today.

Eastern Sabah Security Command (ESSCom) director of Operations, Datuk Abdul Rashid Harun said the attackers had used heavy weapons in the ambush at about 11.10pm yesterday in which the marine policeman was killed.

He said after the attack, the group of armed men escaped to the waters of a neighbouring country.
