IRB To Visit Premises To Collect RM42.5 Million From 933 Defaulters
Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Compliance), Datuk Dr Siti Mariam Che Ayub said 220 officers will visit 3,325 business premises to serve defaulters with notice of arrears.
Speaking at a press conference after launching the 'Kunjungan Mesra Hasil' (KMH) programme here Tuesday, she said the IRB woud use the Mobile Information Management (MIM) system to access tax information of taxpayers.
The system allows information on taxpayers to be accessed via mobile devices such as laptops, smartphones and tablets just by keying in the business registration number.
"In this way, the IRB officers can advice the taxpayers if they failed to perform their responsibility by paying tax," said Siti Mariam.
The system is at trial stage to test the effectiveness to allow information on the operation to be displayed graphically for more strategic planning.
Formerly known as 'Operasi Mesra Hasil,' the KMH programme is customer centric aimed at increasing the compliance with tax payment.
