Teoh Beng Hock's Case: MACC Will Cooperate To Ensure Justice Is Served

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 5 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) will give its full cooperation in the investigation into the case of the death of Teoh Beng Hock to ensure justice is served.

The MACC, in a statement today, said the commission acknowledged and accepted the decision made by the Court of Appeal over the case on Teoh's death.

"The MACC leaves it to the police to investigate and the Attorney-General to make a final decision on whether to charge or otherwise any quarters involved over the death of Teoh Beng Hock.

"The MACC will give full cooperation to ensure justice is served," said the statement.

According to the statement, the MACC hoped action could be taken so that the case would be finally solved as soon as possible.

The Court of Appeal today overturned the open decision on the death of Teoh and decided that his death was due to an unlawful act by someone or several unknown people.

Teoh was found dead on the corridor of the fifth floor of Plaza Masalam in Shah Alam, which prior to this housed the headquarters of MACC, on July 16, 2009.
