Media Members Gather At KLIA Flight Management Building

SEPANG, July 18 ( Bernama )-- Media members began gathering at the Flight Management Building, KLIA here early today to obtain the latest development on a Malaysian Airlines (MAS) aircraft which was reported to have crashed in Ukraine near the Russian border.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak arrived at the building at about 1.20 am to obtain latest information on the incident.

Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Anifah Aman and Armed Forces chief Tan Sri Zulkifeli Mohd Zain arrived a few minutes later for the briefing with the prime minister.

Although there have yet to be details on the incident, the prime minister is scheduled to hold a media conference after the briefing.

For the record, Transport Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai and the Director-General of the Department of Civil Aviation (DCA), Datuk Azharuddin Abdul Rahman, are in Beijing handling matters pertaining to the MAS Flight MH370 which went missing enroute from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing on March 8 this year and believed to have ended in the southern Indian Ocean.
