RTM Ramadan Tour Convoy Visits Elderly, Orphans, Poor In Marang
The convoy, comprising three four-wheel-drive vehicles travelling from Wisma Angkasapuri, Kuala Lumpur and dozens of RTM Terengganu staff, handed over donations of daily essential items to the families concerned.
Head of the Convoy/Coordinator of Route Three Ramadan Tour 2014, Khalim Rohani said the group collaborated with several local non-governmental organisations in the two-day community in Terengganu.
"We spent time with residents of the village in a breaking-of-fast session and presented donations to 100 poor folks and orphans," he told reporters when met in Marang, Tuesday night.
Also present were the Chairman of the state Transformation and Multimedia Committee, A. Latiff Awang who is also the Head of UMNO Marang division, Marang Wanita Head, Toh Puan Zaitun Mat Amin and Director of Terengganu Broadcasting Department, Azizah Mohd Yusof.
Members of the convoy also had a pre-dawn meal with students of the Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA) and continued their journey to Kemaman and Hulu Terengganu to spend time with the less fortunate group there.
This is the third year the tour is held, with the group travelling to Kuantan, Johor, Melaka, Negeri Sembiilan, before returning to Wisma Angkasapuri on July 24.
