Australian Expatriate Found Hanged

KUALA LUMPUR, July 15 (Bernama) -- An Australian expatriate has been found hanged at his house in Jalan Mont Kiara 1 here, according to police.

Brickfields Police chief, ACP Muhammad Azlee Abdullah said the managing director of a food production company, who was in his 40s, was found hanged in a bedroom at 6.45 pm Monday by the maid.

The man was found with an electric cable around his neck in the room when police arrived at about 8 pm, he told BERNAMA, Tuesday.

Muhammad Azlee said police found a note, apparently written by the man and addressed to his wife and children living in the Netherlands.

"The note is of a personal nature and we cannot disclose its contents," he said.

Muhammad Azlee said the police classified the case as sudden death and had notified the Australian High Commission.

The body had been sent to the Universiti Malaya Medical Centre, he added.
