Wife Hopeful Of Abducted Marine Policeman's Return
"I will be the happiest person if my husband (Police Constable Zakia Aliep) returns in time to celebrate Aidilfitri with me and our four-month-old son.
"Right now, I cannot bear being alone with our son. So, I have decided to follow my father-in-law to Kota Kinabalu this evening.
"Besides, my parents are also in Kota Kinabalu," said Sharifah Erna Berson in an interview with Bernama at the family home in Taman Nilam here Monday.
On yesterday's telephone call from Zakia, 26, she declined comment, except to suggest that the media obtain updates from the authorities instead.
Zakia, from Tenghilan, Tamparuli, is a RH40 Boat Radar Plotter with the Pulau Mabul Police Station's marine crime prevention unit.
He has also served with the marine police unit in Penang.
Zakia was kidnapped in an ambush by a group of eight men at 11.10pm on Saturday.
His colleague, Police Corporal Abul Rajah Jamuan, 32, was killed by the group.
