Wanita USIA Focuses On Missionary Programme To Create Holistic Generation
USIA Wanita Movement head Datuk Azizah Mohd Dun said through the missionary programme, it could educate the children to become excellent individuals who were capable of carrying out their responsibilities to the people and country.
"The missionary efforts will concentrate on programmes to create happy families because such families can churn out educated children," she told reporters at a Ramadan programme organised by USIA Wanita movement at the Main Hall, Menara USIA, Likas, last night.
Also present at the event were USIA President Tun Sakaran Dandai and wife, Toh Puan Siti Rukaiyah Abdullah and the chairman of the Sabah Economic Development Corporation (SEDCO), Datuk Seri Nasir Tun Sakaran.
She said that the missionary programme which was initiated in early Ramadan also tracked down Muslim communities living far away in the interior areas to give clear understanding on the actual Islamic religion besides bringing the Muslims closer together.
Azizah, who is also the Deputy Minister of Women, Family and Community Development, said that among the areas already visited were Ranau and Kiulu.
At the function, 30 orphans from within Kota Kinabalu were given Hari Raya contributions.
