PM Breaks Fast With Kuantan Residents
Najib and his wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, surprised the residents who did not expect the presence of the nation's leader.
Attired in pink baju Melayu, he and Rosmah sat on the ground to eat with the guests and Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Adnan Yaakob.
He spent 15 minutes there before leaving to the Sultan Ahmad 1 State Mosque where he performed Maghrib prayers with the congregation.
Earlier, Najib and Rosmah had presented contributions to orphans at the mosque. Meanwhile, Mohd Faizal Ismail, 32, one of the guests at the breaking of the fast event, said he was pleasantly surprised that the Prime Minister joined them for breaking fast without a special table.
"I'm impressed that the Prime Minister can join the people for this occasion without expecting any special treatment.
"It shows that he is a people's leader," he told Bernama.
Mohd Faizal, who came there with his family, said the breaking of fast event was nothing new to the people of Kuantan, but it was made more special today with the presence of the country's leader.
