Giant May Extend Bubur Lambuk Programme To Sabah, Sarawak

SUNGAI PETANI, July 12 (Bernama) -- The Adabi and Giant Bubur Lambuk with the Media Programme may be extended to Sabah and Sarawak, said GCH Retail (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd general manager (marketing) Norine Erica Majaman.

She said the programme, jointly organised by Giant and Adabi, had so far been held in Melaka, Selangor and Kedah before moving on to Johor and Kelantan.

Fifteen cauldrons of the porridge were prepared for distribution in Sungai Petani today, she told Bernama here today.

She said some 6,000 packets of bubur lambuk were later delivered to orphanages, old folk homes, mosques, police stations, and fire and rescue stations here.

The programme, which was organised for the first time by Giant and Adabi, started in Melaka on June 28, before moving on to Shah Alam, Selangor (July 5), and Sungai Petani, on Saturday.

Norine Erica said the programme would be continued next year and might be extended to Sabah and Sarawak depending on logistic capability as Giant has 128 hypermarkets and supermarkets nationwide, 17 of them in Sabah and six in Sarawak.

Meanwhile, she said part of the proceeds from the Charity Box sales would be donated to five orphanages, namely Rumah Anak Yatim Al-Nasuha, Gombak; Rumah Anak-anak Kesayanganku, Bandar Tasik Puteri, Kuala Lumpur; Rumah Anak Yatim Opah, Klang; Rumah Anak Yatim Sungai Buaya, Selangor; and Rumah Anak Yatim Puchong/Cyberjaya.
