Woman, Two Men Detained For Drug Trafficking

TEMERLOH, July 12 (Bernama) -- Two men and a woman were detained for alleged drug trafficking in a police operation, codenamed "Ops Tapis", in an oil palm plantation near Kampung Sungai Semut, Lanchang, on Friday.

Temerloh police chief ACP Anuar Othman said the suspects were all locals aged between 23 and 32.

He said during the raid, the police seized a sling bag containing 79 packets containing white powder and green-coloured nuggets, believed to be heroin, weighing 501.8 grammes.

"The police also found five small transparent plastic packets containing crystal-like powder, believed to be syabu, weighing 3.45 grammes," he told reporters here.

He said police believed the plantation was used as a 'port' by drug traffickers in Lanchang, Mentakab and Temerloh.
