YA1M Expresses Gratitude To PM For Continuous Allocation

KUALA LUMPUR, July 10 (Bernama) -- The 1Malaysia Artistes Foundation (YA1M) today expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak for his commitment and continuous efforts in ensuring the wellbeing of local artistes.

YA1M president Datuk DJ Dave said all this while, the government had been very helpful and that the foundation had received almost RM3 million so far to implement various programmes since its establishment in 2012.

"The prime minister has always been concerned about the wellbeing of the local artistes, especially in terms of insurance and royalty, and that he has always tried to fulfill our requests.

"It shows that he has never been bias in giving the best for the people," he told reporters after attending YA1M's breaking of fast event here today.

At the event, veteran actor and director Datuk Rahim Razali was conferred with YA1M Special Award 2013 for his contributions to the local film industry, besides as host and sports commentator.

Thirty-five veteran artistes of various races also received donations of RM2,000 each.
