JOHOR BAHARU, July 10 (Bernama) -- The Johor state government announced a special RM500 assistance in conjunction with Hari Raya to 11,187 civil servants in the state through an allocation of RM6.6 million.

Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin in announcing the 'duit raya' said the assistance that would be distributed before Hari Raya to civil servants from Grade 1 to 54, would also be given to 1,850 Al-Quran and Fardhu Ain Class (KAFA) teachers and 150 state religious nursery teachers.

"The Hari Raya aid is given to KAFA and religious nursery teachers for the first time, to help them prepare for the festival which is around the corner," he told reporters after opening the 1Malaysia People's Culture, Ramadan bazaar and Aidilfitri programme, here yesterday.

Khaled said the aid was in line with the assistance given by the federal government, as announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, recently.

"We are keeping in line with the RM500 given to civil servants by the federal government," he said.
