PTD Association Team On CSR Transborneo Tour In October
Its Social Committee secretariat member, Nurbani Shuhada Hasninlayali said the 11-day tour programme using four-wheel-drive vehicles would involve 40 volunteers from the association, starting in Sabah and Sarawak and then on to Brunei and Kalimantan.
The programme which received the cooperation of the embassies and consulates of the countries involved would target the local communities in the outskirts of towns and interior areas the group would traverse, she said in a statement.
The group will hand out foodstuff, school items and daily necessities, besides holding gotong-royong activities and village feasts at their stops along the route.
Nurbani said the tour programme was expected to be flagged off by Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Dr Ali Hamsa, as the adviser of the association, in early October.
This will be the association's second corporate social responsibility (CSR) tour programme after the first where the group traversed Loas in 2012.
