Immigration Officer Dies In High-Powered Bike Crash
Mohd Anis Amran, 34, died on the spot at Km3.5 of Jalan Arau-Kangar in the accident which occurred at about 9 am, said Kangar OCPD Supt Abdul Rahman Mohd Noordin.
He said the Honda CBR1000RR motorcycle ridden by Mohd Anis, who was from the Bukit Kayu Hitam Customs, Immigration and Quarantine Complex, hit the Perodua Kembara car as it was making a U-turn near Taman Repoh.
Mohd Anis was on his way here to attend the 'Perlis Bike Week' at Dataran Sheikh Ahmad to promote the 2014 Malaysia Games (Sukma) to be hosted by Perlis.
The officer, who had been living in Abi here, leaves behind a wife and a seven-year-old daughter, said Abdul Rahman, adding that the body had been sent to the Tuanku Fauziah Hospital here.
The driver of the car, a 70-year-old man, and a passenger were unhurt. The driver lodged a police report, he said.
