China-Malaysia Working Group To Enhance Export Of Agricultural Products
The Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Agro-based Industry, Datuk Tajuddin Abdul Rahman said the main topic for discussion was the approval of the Chinese government for several Malaysian products which had not been approved for export there.
"The team would leave for China for the working visit of the minister, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob. Other issues which would be discussed are investments and sharing of expertise," he said in a press conference held after receiving a visit from the Deputy Agriculture Minister of China, Yu Xinrong, at his office in Putrajaya, Tuesday.
Among the products which had difficulty getting approval was bird's nest, jackfruit and pineapple.
"Hopefully, once this is resolved, it would increase our export value to China as they have a huge market, with its population of almost 1.9 billion people," he said.
