Nestle Pre-tax Profit Increases To RM719.05 Mln
Revenue increased to RM4.79 billion from RM4.56 billion.
For the fourth quarter ended Dec 31 2013 (Q413), its pre-tax profit rose to RM124.44 million from RM112.86 million in the same period in 2012.
Revenue increased to RM1.14 billion from RM1.1 billion previously.
In a filing to Bursa Malaysia, Nestle said the good performance for FY13 was driven by domestic sales which showed a strong growth, while exports contracted slightly due to lower demand from affiliate companies.
It said for Q413 the continued investments in marketing and promotional activities supported the good local growth achieved by many product categories.
"Maggi Big Kari, which was launched by the food business unit, was well received and recorded encouraging sales.
"The Milo Fuel for Champions campaign supporting the Malaysian contingents at the 27th Sea Games in Myanmar was another highlight of the quarter," it said.
On the current year outlook, Nestle said, it remained cautiously optimistic.
It said the group would continue to leverage on the growing Malaysian economy and remain active in innovating and renovating its product portfolio while promoting nutritionally balanced diets and lifestyles.
"This is in line with the government's goal of creating a healthy and productive society," it said.
Nestle said the group would focus on growing both top and bottom line while continuing its long-term strategy of investing in manufacturing capacity to support its growth.
