KAFA 'Contributed' RM2.4 Million To FAM Last Season - Annuar

KOTA BAHARU, Nov 21 (Bernama) -- The Kelantan Football Association (KAFA) had 'contributed' RM2.4 to the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM), directly or indirectly said KAFA president Tan Sri Annuar Musa.

He said the 'contributions' were through tickets sales, levy and fines imposed throughout last season.

Annuar said KAFA had paid FAM RM250,000 in fines due to the action of their unruly fans, including RM50,000 for their actions during the Malaysia Cup final on Nov 7.

"Based on this, KAFA were the highest 'contributor' to the FAM in terms of revenue," he told reporters after introducing the 25-member Kelantan football team at the Kelantan Trade Center (KTC) here on Saturday.

According to Annuar, KAFA's biggest single contribution to FAM was RM1.1 million in ticket sales during the Malaysia Cup final against Negeri Sembilan at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil.

He added that KAFA would not make an appeal on the RM50,000 fine imposed by FAM for violence and damages at the National Stadium, during the Malaysia Cup final.

Meanwhile, KAFA who roped in seven new players to beef up the squad for next season and retained mainstays like Indra Putera Mahyuddin, Mohd Daud Su and Norfahmi Mohamad Noor, had decided to drop first choice goalkeeper Halim Napi and Khalid Jamlus from the squad.

Annuar also assured that KAFA would increase the wages and allowances of players, as an initiative to boost the spirit and commitment of the players, in their quest to win titles in M-League next season.
