Liow Hopes CC Will Make The Right Decision

MELAKA, Oct 11 (Bernama) -- MCA vice president Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai hopes the party's Central Committee (CC) will make the right decision with regard to the decision of the delegates to reject president Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat and deputy president Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek at the extraordinary general meeting (EGM) yesterday.

Liow said the CC was scheduled to meet at Wisma MCA in Kuala Lumpur on Thursday and is expected to make the most appropriate decision on the matter.

"We hope all the problems that has cropped up since, will be solved on Thursday," he told reporters after receiving the Darjah Gemilang Seri Melaka (DGSM) which carried the title 'Datuk Seri' at the investiture ceremony in conjunction with Yang Dipertua Negeri Melaka Tun Mohd Khalil Yaakob's 71st birthday at Dewan Seri Negeri here on Sunday.

Liow who is also the Health Minister, headed 412 recipients on the second day of the investiture ceremony today, after 296 had received their titles or medals yesterday.

Another 522 recipients are set to receive their honours on a yet to be announced date.

Liow who respects the decision made by the delegates at the EGM said the political storm in MCA must be resolved in the best possible way without giving room for any other problems to crop up.

All in MCA must unite and stay as one entity to further strengthen the party.

Liow who hails from Merlimau near here, also thanked Mohd Khalil and the Melaka state government for awarding him the DGSM.
