FOREX: Ringgit Ends Slightly Lower Against US Dollar
KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 26 (Bernama) -- The ringgit traded slightly lower against the US dollar on Thursday in line with losses on the local stock market, dealers said.
At 5pm, the ringgit stood at 3.3850/3900 against the greenback compared with 3.3710/3760 at yesterday's close.
The FTSE Bursa Malaysia Kuala Lumpur Composite Index (FBM KLCI) finished 0.39 of a point lower at 1,270.61 Thursday.
"The bearish performance of the local bourse and lack of direction in the market encouraged investors to buy back greenback," a dealer said.
The local unit declined against the Singapore dollar to 2.4492/4555 from 2.4378/4441 on Wednesday and it weakened against the Japanese yen to 3.8944/8015 from 3.8224/8294 previously.
It rose against the British pound to 5.5985/5077 from 5.6326/6426 yesterday but was lower against the euro at 5.1015/1101 from 5.0599/0684 previously.
