BURSA MALAYSIA: Share Prices Mostly Firmer In Early Trade

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 26 (Bernama) -- Share prices on Bursa Malaysia were mostly firmer in early trade on Thursday on buying of blue chips like Maybank, CIMB, Maxis and IOI Corp, said dealers.

At 10.07am, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia Kuala Lumpur Composite Index was 1.5 point higher at 1,272.5.

The FBM Emas Index rose 4.52 points to 8,480.24 and the FBM Top 100 increased 5.67 of a point to 8,291.59 but the FBM 70 dropped 10.8 points to 8,190.34.

The FBM ACE added 12.22 points to 4,342.22, the Industrial Index perked up 1.77 points to 2,699.08 and the Plantation Index advanced 37.21 points to 6,269.14 but the Finance Index fell 2.14 points to 10,958.38.

Gainers led losers by 177 to 144 while 178 counters were unchanged and 785 others untraded.

A total of 181.284 million shares worth RM140.414 million were transacted.

The active stocks included Harvest-WA that added 6.5 sen to 12 sen. Maxis-CA gained 3.5 sen to 18.5 sen and MTone was flat at 2.5 sen.

Among heavyweights, Sime Darby was untraded at RM8.98, Maybank rose one sen to RM6.93, CIMB gained four sen to RM12.92 and Maxis jumped six sen to RM5.36.

Tenaga shed one sen to RM8.42, IOI Corp increased eight sen to RM5.49 and Digi went up eight sen to RM22.00.
