Malaysia To Import 15,000 Cows For Aidiladha
KUALA TERENGGANU, Nov 18 (Bernama) -- A total of 15,000 cows will be imported from Thailand for the Aidiladha sacrificial slaughter, said Veterinary Services Department deputy director-general (development) Dr Ibrahim Embong.
He said 10,000 cows would be brought in through Kelantan and 5,000 more through Perlis.
"There will be enough supply for the Aidiladha sacrifice as local breeders will also provide the cattle," he told Bernama Wednesday.
He said the imported cattle would be confined to several quarantine centres set up by the departments and the private sector in Kelantan and Perlis for health inspection, and hoof and mouth vaccination.
