Number Of Flood Victims In Kedah Drops To 1,558.
ALOR SETAR, Nov 17 (Bernama) -- The number of flood victims in five districts in Kedah dropped to 1,558 people Tuesday evening from 1,664 people in the morning.
A spokesman for the state flood operations room said the Kota Setar district still had the most number of victims evacuated at 876 from 254 families and who were housed in seven evacuation centres.
In the Kubang Pasu district, the number of victims in four evacuation centres reduced to 352 people from 95 families while in the Pokok Sena district 59 people from 15 families were still in two evacuation centres.
In Bandar Baharu, four evacuation centres were still open for 291 people from 68 families and in Kulim only one centre was operating to house 10 people from three families.
Water level readings saw just Sungai Pantai Johor having exceeded the danger level at 2.36m (danger level 2m) while other rivers were at cautionary levels.
