Indonesian Government Preparing Blueprint For National Transport Modes
SURABAYA, Nov 17 (Bernama) -- The Transportation Ministry is preparing a blueprint for the development of national transport modes as part of efforts to improve transport services to the public, Indonesia's Antara news agency reported.
The blueprint is part of the United Indonesia Cabinet II's programme in the first 100 days in office and therefore, it must be completed soon, Transportation Minister Freddy Numberi said on the sidelines of the 8th Conference of Eastern Asia Society for Transport Studies" (EASTS) here on Monday.
"In this programme we want to create an integrated and comprehensive transport system," he said.
The blueprint for integral national transport system will be realised by synergising one transport modes to another, he said.
He said the government is also planning to reduce the burden of roads in urban areas by developing more railway tracks. "We will develop good railway transport system," he said.
