SANA'A, Nov 16 (Bernama) -- The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) said on Sunday that it will establish a new displacement camp for the victims of war in northern Yemen, state-owned SABA news agency reported.
Assistant High Commissioner for operations Janet Lim said the UNHCR will establish a new displacement camp in Amran province, pointing out that a total of about 175,000 displaced people will be registered in several camps in northern Yemen.
Lim added that the UNHCR will keep supporting efforts made by the Yemeni government to provide the displaced people with safe water and sanitation services in order to improve their living conditions.
The assistant commissioner visited on Nov 12 Al-Mazrak camp in northern Yemen to inspect how the UNHCR is helping displaced people there.
