Negeri Sembilan To Get Cash Incentives

SEREMBAN, Nov 11 (Bernama) -- Newly crowned Malaysia Cup winners Negeri Sembilan will receive RM200,000 in bonus and cash incentives, said Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan.

He said the coveted Malaysia Cup would be paraded on an open top bus through Seremban, Senawang and Ampangan on Saturday morning while a victory ceremony would be held at the Seremban Municipal Council field in the evening.

The ceremony will be followed by an entertainment performance and fireworks, he told reporters after chairing the state executive council meeting here Wednesday.

Mohamad, who is also Football Association of Negeri Sembilan president said, said he regretted the state would not declare a public holiday to celebrate the victory as it would be costly to the private sector.

"We have a lot of factories in the state. They will suffer losses if we were to declare a public holiday. They have to fork out extra pay to the workers to work on an ungazetted public holiday," he said.

On the victory, he said the fighting spirit must be inculcated as many quarters had dismissed Negeri Sembilan's chances of winning the final.

"This is the spirit we must inculcate. We must have self-confident and if we set a target, we must work towards the objective, we must work hard," he added.

The team had received RM50,000 in cash incentives when they booked a berth for the semi-final and RM100,000 when the made it to the final.
