Johor Turns To Photography In Search Of New Tourism Places
JOHOR BAHARU, Nov 9 (Bernama) -- Johor is turning to photography competition in its quest to find new attractions which can be promoted as the state's tourism products.
As of today, it is collaborating with the Johor Photography Business Association in holding the Tourism, Bridal & Photography Award 2009 in search of new areas to attract more tourists to the state.
"Amateur and professional photographers can help to introduce the new areas through their photographs of which will be printed in state tourism brochures in the future," said State Tourism and Domestic Trade Committee chairman Hoo Seong Chang.
Speaking at the launching of the competition at Plaza Pelangi shopping complex here today, he said photograph was one of the finest ways to promote tourism and that photographers always knew about interesting places to shoot.
The competition is divided into open and professional categories offering a total of RM20,000 in prizes.
The competition started today until Jan 16, next year.
