Private Kindergartens Welcome For Permata Negara Training: Rosmah

KOTA KINABALU, Nov 8 (Bernama) -- Private-run kindergartens are welcome to acquire training for their teachers from Permata Negara, its chairwoman Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor said on Sunday.

The Prime Minister's wife said this was to ensure that children under five years old received the same pre-school curiculum.

"The allocation given to Permata Negara in the recent budget is for government-run kindergartens. But we welcome the private sector to acquire assistance from us.

"Permata realised that a child's development is critical in the first three years and through the Permata programme, children have the opportunity to go through an early learning programme to build a smart-thinking mind, creativity, self-confidence and a cheerful and positive personality," she said at a meeting with kindergarten operators in Sabah, here.

She also said Permata Negara would be focussing on setting up kindergartens and day-care centres at government departments to encourage bonding between government servants and their children during the day.

However, due to financial constraints, state governments were required to provide the building while Permata Negara would provide the training, Rosmah added.
