RM10 Million To Address Spread Of H1N1 In Schools
KUALA TERENGGANU, Nov 4 (Bernama) -- The Education Ministry has allocated RM10 million to state education departments nationwide to address the spread of Influenza A(H1N1) in school.
Deputy Education Minister Datuk Dr Wee Ka Siong said the allocation would be used to provide thermometers, sanitizer and masks for students and staff.
"The ministry is very concerned about the situation and the cleanliness, health and safety (3K) initiatives in schools and are always strategising to enhance our capability to overcome problems," he said when closing the National 3K Award Ceremony here on Wednesday.
His speech was delivered by Terengganu deputy education director Razali Daud.
Besides the spread of the disease, he said the ministry also hoped to solve other issues such as food poisoning, indiscipline among students and safety issues in schools.
