Vietnam Airlines To Increase International Flights
HANOI, Oct 24 (Bernama) -- The national flag carrier, Vietnam Airlines, will increase the number of flights on several international routes starting Oct 26, the airline spokesman has announced.
On routes to Europe, the carrier will add one flight per week for both Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi on routes to Paris, France, and Frankfurt, according to the Vietnam news agency, citing the spokesman as saying.
On routes to other Asian countries, Vietnam Airlines will double the number of flights from Ho Chi Minh City to Bangkok, Thailand, adding one flight everyday for a total of 14 a week.
The airline will add two flights a week out of both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to Pusan, the Republic of Korea, bringing the total to 10.
In order to meet the higher demand on the occasion of the traditional Lunar New Year's festival (Tet), the airline plans to increase its transport capacity by 20 percent by using bigger planes on domestic routes from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City and from Ho Chi Minh City to Da Nang city during February 2010.
