NS Ruler's Installation To Be Filmed By Discovery Channel

SEREMBAN, Oct 22 (Bernama) -- The installation ceremony of Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir as the 11th Yang Dipertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan on Oct 26 will be filmed by Discovery Channel.

Negeri Sembilan information director, Ahmad Iqbal Zainal Azim, said the documentary to be filmed will be on the customs and traditions of the monarchy system in Negeri Sembilan, especially the installation of the Yang di-Pertuan Besar.

"This is an opportunity for us to showcase Negeri Sembilan as a state that was rich with customs and traditions of the Malay-ruler system that is enduring and needed to be understood at the international level," Ahamd Iqbal told Bernama here Thursday.

He said filming of the documentary would be done before, during and after the installation ceremony.

Meanwhile, Negri Sembilan broadcasting director, Norbaiyah Baharudin, said Radio Television Malaysia (RTM) will have a live broadcast of the installation ceremony over the TV1 channel.

"About 60 crew members will be involved," she said.

In KUALA PILAH, hotels here, Desa Inn Hotel and Kuala Pilah Rest House, have been have been fully booked for the installation of Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir.

Desa Inn Hotel manager, Lee Pit Chen, said all 29 rooms have been booked from Oct 22-28.

"The bookings are for the Perdana Forum crew, the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Orchestra and the Royal Malaysian Police," she told Bernama here Thursday.

Kuala Pilah Rest House manager, Azman Samad, said all 10 rooms and eight chalets had been booked.

All 29 rooms of Seri Menanti Resort near Istana Lama Seri Menanti have been booked.

A spokesman of Hotel Era in Bahau that has 70 rooms said 40 rooms have been booked for Oct 22-28.

In SEREMBAN, most hotels like Royale Bintang Hotel (345 rooms), Klana Resort (more than 200 rooms) and Seri Malaysia Hotel (50 rooms) are still receiving bookings.
