Melaka Proposes RM375 Million Budget For 2010
MELAKA, Oct 21 (Bernama) -- The Melaka government has proposed a RM375 million budget for 2010, Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Ali Rustam said.
He said the State Executive Council (Exco) meeting today approved the budget proposal to be tabled at the State Assembly session on Nov 9-12.
"The proposed budget will have surplus of several hundred thousand ringgit," he told reporters after chairing the State Exco meeting here on Wednesday.
Ali said the government had decided to pay fire and storm victims RM1,000-RM3,000 each depending on the damage caused.
It also decided to pay flood victims RM200-RM2,000 each depending on the size of the flood.
He said the meeting also approved the establishment of the Toh Puan Zurina Foundation, named after the wife of Melaka Yang Dipertua Negeri Tun Mohd Khalil Yaakob, to provide haemodialysis treatment at affordables rates.
The foundation to be launched next month would start with 10 haemodialysis machines costing RM674,000 to treat poor kidney patients, in line with the 1Malaysia concept.
