Hindraf Supporters Cause Stir At Raya Open House

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 1 (Bernama) -- A group of Hindraf supporters Wednesday caused a stir at the Hari Raya Aidilfitri open house hosted by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and Muslim Cabinet ministers at the PWTC when they did not observe rules and cut into the queue of others.

Observers said that about mid-day, they had cut into a long queue comprising the general public who had been waiting for their opportunity since 10am.

They presented Abdullah a teddy bear with a Hari Raya greeting card which they claimed to have 300 signatures, asking for Hindraf leaders now under detention, to be released.

Despite their unruly behaviour, they were allowed into the hall in the spirit of Hari Raya.

Abdullah told reporters that the group wanted to meet him personally but he could not meet anyone specifically as it was a Hari Raya open house.
