No New H1N1 Case Admitted To ICU
KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 15 (Bernama) -- No new admission of Influenza A (H1N1) patient to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is reported on Thursday.
Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Ismail Merican, however, said 167 new patients with symptoms of influenza-like illness (ILI) had been hospitalised for treatment and 166 of them had been discharged.
"The current number of ILI cases still under treatment nationwide is 699 at 80 hospitals, with seven of the patients in private hospitals," he added.
He added that from the total ILI patients being treated, only 28 of them (four per cent) were Influenza A cases confirmed through laboratory tests, with five of them (18 per cent) in the ICU.
All the five cases in the ICU had risk factors, including three children under five years of age, he added.
The death toll due to Influenza A (H1N1) remain at 77,
