KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 12 (Bernama)-- One hundred and forty five people with Influenza-Like Illness (ILI) symptoms have been hospitalised for treatment throughout the country while 120 patients were discharged making the total number of patients being treated in 77 hospitals in the country a total of 660.
Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Mohd Ismail Merican in a statement here today said of that number only 29 patients or four per cent were Influenza A (H1N1) cases confirmed through laboratory tests.
"Of the 29 Influenza A (H1N1) patients receiving treatment nine or 31 per cent were in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
"Today, there was a new case in the ICU and no patient was discharged," he said in the statement issued by the Health Ministry.
