East Coast Inter-city Express Train Services Disrupted

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 22 (Bernama) -- KTM Berhad (KTMB) today had to suspend its southbound east coast inter-city express train services following the worsening flood situation in Kelantan.

According to a statement from the company here, the services cancelled were the Wau Express that services the Tumpat-Kuala Lumpur route and Timuran Express from Tumpat to Singapore.

As for the Kuala Lumpur-Tumpat and Singapore-Tumpat routes of the two services, they had to end at Gua Musang with passengers made to continue their onward journey to Tumpat on buses provided, the company said.

The company said passengers who had bought tickets for the services that were cancelled could opt to change travelling dates or get a full refund at the KTMB station nearest to them.

"The period of suspension for these two services (Tumpat-Kuala Lumpur; Tumpat-Singapore) will depend on the flood situation in Kelantan and we will be providing customers regular updates," it said.

KTMB apologised for the inconvenience and asked customers to contact its call centre at 03-22671200 should they require any assistance.
