Second Post-mortem On Teoh Completed
SUNGAI BULOH, Nov 22 (Bernama) -- The second post-mortem on the remains of Teoh Beng Hock was carried out by a group of pathologists at the Forensic Department of Sungai Buloh Hospital here Sunday.
The post-mortem, led by the hospital's Pathology Unit head, Dr Shahidan Md Noor, started at 1pm and finished at approximately 3.15pm.
Also present to witness the post-mortem were independent pathologist from the United Kingdom, Prof Dr Peter Vanezis, who is representing the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) and Thailand's forensic expert invited by the Selangor state government, Dr Pornthip Rojanasunan.
Dr Pornthip arrived at the hospital at 8.45am followed by Dr Vanezis five minutes later.
Members of the media who had arrived at the department's compound as early as 7am were denied entry and were told to wait at the car park in front of the building.
Yesterday, the remains of Teoh were exhumed from his grave following a request from his family for a second post-mortem to be carried out.
Meanwhile, Teoh's younger sister Lee Lan, 29, said the family had yet to be informed about the results of the second post-mortem and would wait for the full report to be announced in the inquest into his death at the Shah Alam Coroner's Court on Dec 9.
Lee Lan said her brother's remains would be re-buried at 10am on Tuesday at the Nirvana Memorial Park in Semenyih.
Seven members of Teoh's family, including his father, mother and siblings were present during the second post-mortem.
Meanwhile, Teoh's family lawyer, Gobind Singh Deo alleged that a group of unknown individuals had been following Dr Porntip since Friday.
"Since Friday afternoon, several cars have been trailing Dr Pornthip to her hotel and to the cemetery in Semenyih (where Teoh's remains were exhumed yesterday).
"Don't use this tactic. If you want information, come to us and we'll give it to you," he said, adding that the police had deployed several officers to protect the expert upon receiving a report on the matter.
Teoh, who was the political secretary to Selangor executive councillor Ean Yong Hian Wah, had been summoned to the state Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission office on the 14th floor of Plaza Masalam here for questioning on July 15.
He was found dead at the building's fifth floor the following day.
