Hill Slope Development Can Resume In Selangor Next Year
SHAH ALAM, Nov 7 (Bernama) -- Hill slope development can resume in Selangor next year once the state government's guidelines on such development are finalised.
Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim said additional conditions would also be imposed for hill slope development including on ensuring existing topography was preserved.
"We are still gathering feedback from the stake holders. The steering committee involved is in the process of finalising the guidelines and when ready, approval will be given on a case-by-case basis," he told reporters after opening a workshop on the guidelines, here Saturday.
Another important condition that would be imposed was ensuring streams and underground water could flow unimpeded so as to prevent landslides from occurring, he added.
Selangor Rural and Urban Development Department director Mohd Jaafar Mohd Atan said the guidelines should be ready in about two months and would be tabled to the state government for approval.
