Sultan Of Pahang Officiates Royal Photo Exibition

KUANTAN, Oct 25 (Bernama) -- The Sultan of Pahang, Sultan Ahmad Shah, Sunday officiated the Royal Pahang Photo Exhibition that showcases his photographs during his reign since being installed in 1974.

The photo exhibition organised by the Malaysian National New Agency (BERNAMA), in conjunction with his 79th birthday, was held at Kompleks Penyiaran Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah (KOMSAS).

Also presnt was the Sultanah of Pahang, Sultanah Kalsom; Pahang Menteri Besar Pahang Datuk Seri Adnan Yaakob; Pahang state information, science, technology, and innovation committee chairman, Datuk Mohd Sharkar Shamsudin; and Bernama general manager, Hasnul Hassan.

According to Mohd Sharkar, the photo exhibition indirectly tells of "who actually His Majesty is in the eyes of the people" and that the love of the people for the Sultan of Pahang was "real".

"The photo exibition also has photos of His Majesty since being installed as the fifth Sultan of Pahang on May 8, 1974. It is also meant to bring the people closer to His Majesty," he said.



Two hundred photos of the Sultan of Pahang are being displayed in the exhibition being held for the first time.

Mohd Sharkar said the exhibition will also be held at the EastCoast Mall Kuantan shopping complex on Oct 27 and 28 and was proposed to be held in all the districts in Pahang.

He said the purpose of the exhibition was also for the people to understand the monarchy system as enshrined in the Malaysian constitution.

"The people of Pahang are lucky to have a ruler who is friendly and has the spirit of the people," he said.

After opening the exhibition, the Sultan of Pahang watched the 'Konsert Diraja Pahang' by the Broadcasting Department of RTM also held at KOMSAS.

The concert organised together with the state government had more than 10 old and new artistes including Datuk Yusni Hamid, FaraWahida and Aizat.
