By Muin Abdul Majid
DUBAI, Oct 23 (Bernama) -- Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, wife of Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, is scheduled to arrive at the Dubai International Airport here on Friday night, to attend the Women in Leadership Forum, joining other women leaders from all over the world.
The forum will be opened by Princess Haya Bint Al Hussein, wife of United Arab Emirates (UAE) vice-president, prime minister and ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, at the Burj Al Arab hotel on Sunday.
Rosmah is scheduled to have an audience with Princess Haya.
Running from Oct 25 to 27, the Women In Leadership Forum will gather 300 women leaders from political, academic and business sectors.
Rosmah is scheduled to deliver her keynote address at the forum on Monday, sharing Malaysia's experience in the promotion of the role of women, especially on leadership, among others.
Women leaders from the East and West will also share their experiences in leadership and strategies to deal with challenges during a session called 'Bridging the Gap', according to Naseba, the organiser of the forum.
"My objective of having a delegation from Malaysia is to allow this cultural exchange to happen, having a perspective from an Asian country," Naseba chief executive Sophie Le Ray told Bernama.
"When you see that the wife of the Malaysian prime minister, with her achievements and educational background and everything, I think it'll be interesting to get her perspective, as well as those of the other ladies in the delegation," she added.
Le Ray said it was important to address misconceptions surrounding women in Asia or Middle East, including in the business world.
Rosmah's itinerary in Dubai includes a visit to the Al Noor Training Centre for Children with Special Needs and attending a gathering to celebrate Hari Raya and Deepavali with Malaysians residing in the UAE.
She will be accompanied by Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil, Deputy Human Resources Minister Datuk Maznah Mazlan, as well as wives of several ministers and state leaders, and other government officials.
